But fire does not fall on a broken altar.
Fire falls on what has been restored.

Even those who know God can momentarily lose their peace, overwhelmed by circumstances, anxiety, or pain. The soul becomes restless, scattered, troubled\u2026 but the psalmist speaks with authority: go back, return to where you belong.
\u201cRest\u201d here is not merely the absence of problems, but a deep spiritual condition of trust, security, and surrender in God. In the original Hebrew, it carries the idea of quietness, settled peace\u2014like a weaned child resting in the arms of its mother. It is a peace not determined by what is happening around you, but by who reigns within you.
The key to returning is found in the second part of the verse: \u201cfor the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.\u201d The psalmist anchors his peace not in feelings, but in remembrance. He is saying: my soul, remember what God has done for you. Do not live as if you were abandoned\u2014because you are not.

And this is the secret: not avoiding storms, but knowing how to return to rest.

In the Old Testament, this is a figure of speech. But in the New Testament, this becomes a reality. Jesus Christ is revealed as the Wisdom of God. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 1:24, \u201cChrist the power of God and the wisdom of God.\u201d<\/b> And in Colossians 2:3, \u201cin whom (Christ) are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.\u201d<\/b>

This means that everything wisdom promised in Proverbs is fulfilled in Jesus. He is not just wise, He is the wisdom of God in human form.

So when Proverbs says, \u201cCounsel is mine,\u201d<\/b> it points us to Christ. If you need direction, Jesus is your guide. When you are confused and do not know what to do, He can lead you to the right decision. He gives wisdom that is true and reliable.

When wisdom says, \u201cI am understanding,\u201d<\/b> it means Jesus gives clarity. He helps you see things clearly. He gives discernment so you can know what is right and what is wrong. He can even give you insight in your work, studies, and daily life.

The verse also says, \u201cpower and strength are mine.\u201d<\/b> This means Jesus is the source of your strength. When you feel weak, tired, or ready to give up, He renews you. He gives you the ability to continue. Ecclesiastes 7:19 says, \u201cWisdom strengthens the wise more than ten rulers of the city.\u201d<\/b> God\u2019s wisdom gives you strength beyond human ability.

This truth is simple but powerful: whatever you need, you can find in Jesus. He is the source of guidance, clarity, wisdom, and strength.

Many people run first to others when they are in trouble. They depend only on human advice. But God is calling you to turn to Jesus first. He knows everything. He understands everything. And He is ready to help you.

Go to Him in every situation. He has what you need.

This is not due to luck or strength, but rather to God\u2019s protection. It reminds us that even in the middle of a crisis, God can preserve His people.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I visited an elderly man in the hospital. He had gone there for a minor surgery on his leg, but the doctors delayed it because he had high blood pressure. He was admitted until his blood pressure stabilized. When he was there, he saw many patients being admitted with COVID-19 and many of them died. Because it was a small hospital, he knew some of them, people his age.

After two days, fear took over his heart. When I visited him, he said, \u201cMany of my friends have died here. I told God to take me also because I don\u2019t think I will survive.\u201d I was shocked. I asked him, \u201cAre you infected with COVID-19?\u201d He said, \u201cNo, but people are dying. I won\u2019t survive this.\u201d Because he saw many people dying he also surrendered to death, although he was not even sick.

I opened my Bible and read Psalm 91 to him, especially this verse. As we talked about God\u2019s protection, his understanding changed. He realized he was not even sick. He was only there for a small surgery. Fear had made him believe he would share the same fate as others. But the truth set him free.

Many people today have the same fear. They believe what happened to others will also happen to them. Maybe your family members failed, and you think you will fail too. Maybe others lost their jobs, and you think yours is next. Maybe others became sick, and you fear the same outcome.

But the Bible says, \u201cA thousand may fall at your side\u2026 but it shall not come near you.\u201d<\/b> A thousand is a large number. Ten thousand is even greater. If a thousand people die because of something it is a National crisis. Yet God says you will be preserved.
