The signing of <a title=\"\u041c\u0418\u0414 \u0420\u043e\u0441\u0441\u0438\u0438 \ud83c\uddf7\ud83c\uddfa\" href=\"\/channels\/@MID_Russia\">the Treaty on Deepening Allied Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of South Ossetia<\/a> came as an important milestone in the development of bilateral ties.<br><br>In October 2008, in order to achieve <b>post-conflict settlement between Georgia and Abkhazia and South Ossetia<\/b>,<a title=\"\u041c\u0418\u0414 \u0420\u043e\u0441\u0441\u0438\u0438 \ud83c\uddf7\ud83c\uddfa\" href=\"\/channels\/@MID_Russia\"> the Geneva International Discussions on Security and Stability in the South Caucasus<\/a> were launched.
