Solo exhibition by Japanese artist Daiki Nishimura.

Exhibition brings together works exploring landscape, memory, technology and environmental change, examining the uncertain space between recognising a landscape and imagining what it may become.

In his larger Foresight Dream paintings, Daiki uses AI as an \u201cexternal dreaming organ,\u201d generating speculative environments that he combines with vegetation and light observed near his studio. His smaller Environmental Consciousness works instead turn towards memory and perception, reconstructing fleeting views seen through train windows or screens as fragments of colour, light and form. Together, the two series consider how landscapes are changing, as well as how our ways of seeing shape our understanding of them.

Carved into the cliffs at the edge of the Gobi Desert between the 4th and 14th centuries, the Mogao Caves, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, preserve an extraordinary record of life in Dunhuang. Life-size reproductions of cave interiors alongside paintings, sculptures, manuscripts, and textiles, are presented in Southeast Asia for the first time, revealing the history of these sacred spaces and the exchanges that shaped the Silk Road.

Presented as part of prize awarded to Christian Tan as overall winner of the UOL X ART:DIS Art Prize 2025, the exhibition marks his debut solo exhibition. \u201cHeld in the Middle\u201d draws on Christian\u2019s use of familiar objects and subjects, often placed at the centre of his compositions.

The showcase brings together a collection of about 30 linocut prints by Christian, developed since 2019. These include his award-winning set of Red Plumbing Set, Yellow Broom and Floor Scrubbing, alongside works depicting cleaning tools, workstations, chairs and pop stars. Organised around the reflections of labour, rest, aspiration and joy, the exhibition offers the most comprehensive presentation of Christian\u2019s artistic practice to date.
